Intercessory Prayer

Scripture on Intercessory Prayer

With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, Ephesians 6:18.

Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. Romans 10:1

But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Matthew 5:44

Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” Matthew 18:19-20

Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. Matthew 2 1:22

Father forgive them, for they know not what they do. Luke 22:32

Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the father may be glorified in the Son; if you ask anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:13-14

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. John l5:7

In that day, you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father, he will give it to you in my name. John 16:23-24

And he knelt down and cried with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." Acts 7:60

You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us in answer to many prayers. 2 Corinthians 1:11

And so, from the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to lead a life worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Collosians 1:9-10

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony to which was given at the proper time. 1 Timothy 2:1-6

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. James 5:13-16

And this is the confidence which we have in him, that ifwe ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have obtained the requests made of him. John 5:14-15

Consequently, he is able for all time to save those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25
